Character Sheet Meme: Nika

Another of these! Yeah, I finally caught the steampunk bug. XO Lolol.

This is a character and story I've been rather obsessed with lately - Nika and his tale of sentient weapons, kinda-sorta alchemy, eldritch abominations, big pharma conspiracies, and bibliophilia. It's not as complicated as it sounds, I swear!

Her crossbow, Talenvar, is actually a character I've had in limbo for a long, long time now. I'm glad to finally be putting him to good use.

Yes, Nika has a definite gender. He/She just doesn't like sharing what it is. XP That's more out of a playful love of messing with people than out of any real gender confusion.

And yes, CUTTLEFISH. Cuttlefish are frickin' AWESOME.

EDIT: Just a few things I forgot to mention:
- The lace on that vest and the pattern on the cravat were hand-drawn and actually incredibly fun to do! (Yeah, I was surprised too.)
- That vest is a woman's vest. You can tell by which side the buttons are on. However, that still doesn't really tell you anything about Nika's gender, as he/she likes to mislead people.
- I did a lot of research into how crossbows work when designing Talenvar. He's got a stirrup for keeping him still while reloading and a crank to raise the string without having to reach down, much like medieval Chinese models. Also crossbows are uber-cheap weapons - since they require relatively little skill to use, they were considered an unfair weapon to use in war. USELESS TRIVIA YAY!!
- Speaking of Talenvar, yes, those are eyes, and yes, they move. 8D

EDIT 2: Tweaked Nika's age and "Similar Characters." I switched out Jun from Rozen Maiden for Kino from Kino's Journey. I haven't seen enough of Rozen Maiden to really be sure of the comparison but I KNOW Nika is like Kino.

EDIT 3: Changed "Nikolai" to "Nikita". I like it better
